At a minimum, I envision a Katie nomination in his future (can't promise more than that -- most of the time I'm not sure who's going to win until I start making notes for the essay).Mythical Monkeyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11330587602682498820noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6924668268143757716.post-41515617122886269212009-10-22T20:49:17.466-04:002009-10-22T20:49:17.466-04:00Great post, and I definitely need to see the Lugos...Great post, and I definitely need to see the Lugosi Dracula again. I remember enjoying it immensely, but at the moment when I think of Bela, all I can see is Martin Landau playing the part (very well, I thought) in Ed Wood!Who Am Us Anyway?https://www.blogger.com/profile/08260586634760800759noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6924668268143757716.post-36363933776065906702009-10-22T08:07:02.953-04:002009-10-22T08:07:02.953-04:00I personally love those classic monster movies, (t...I personally love those classic monster movies, (though the werewolf was the only one that truly scared me as a child). (The silent vampire film that shall remain nameless resides in its own hellish category.) Even for those who watch for the campy aspect, there are some truly striking visual images from those films . . . which may be why I'm always most impressed/impacted by the B/W horror movies. Keep your gore, give me a scary B/W image!

Speaking of 'Dracula' -- found Bram Stoker's novel to be a pretty frightening piece of literature. I read it in h.s. and couldn't believe how scary it was. The description of Dracula -- with the hair on his palms, climbing up the wall . . . aaakk! Spooky stuff. Plus I love a novel written in letter/journal form . . . will perhaps have to see how it reads to me now, so many years later.Lupnernoreply@blogger.com
