Your comment may not be far off base, and actually closer to the truth. The original surviving manuscript for what became "We're In The Money" was written on Shapiro, Bernstein (publisher) paper, where Harry was employed from late 1924 through early 1928. While undated otherwise, one would suggest that this was from the 1926-1928 time frame, which *could* easily portend to an original creation date of the melody being 1927.

David JAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08085861596452091116noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6924668268143757716.post-90421985503371257992010-06-03T16:38:41.264-04:002010-06-03T16:38:41.264-04:00This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6924668268143757716.post-61682682323654182302010-05-09T04:50:30.224-04:002010-05-09T04:50:30.224-04:00Joan blondell has become one of my fave pre coders...Joan blondell has become one of my fave pre coders too, just recently noticed that she is in Grease! she was wonderful.
I wish Gold Diggers was available on dvd here, but i suppose it makes it special when it just happens to pop up on tcm. He is a ball of fire, snapping orders, picking up the tempo, rattling out a dance step. I don't think he gives a more kinetic performance until One Two Three.Beveridge D.
