Oscar Onlys Who is the only Oscar to win an Oscar? (Hint: He actually won two, one of them for the lyrics to the song "It Might As We Be Spring" in the 1945 musical State Fair.)

  1. I would have said Oscar Homolka, but I don't think he ever wrote a song. HA! Oscar humor.

  2. "Stop eating my sesame cake."

    "What?"

    "Stop. Eating. My. Sesame. Cake!"

Oh, wait, that's Herkermer Homolka. I always get those two confused ...

  4. I was gonna guess Oscar Levant, but that's a silly guess considering Hammerstein's first name was Oscar. If only someone had told me Hammerstein's first name was Oscar...then I would have known it! ;)

Yeah, I always thought it was "Rodgers and" myself ...

  6. No Oscar for Oskar? Was Oskar Homolka ever nominated for an Oscar?

  7. Turns out Oskar Homolka was nominated for one Oscar, as supporting actor in the 1948 movie I Remember Mama. Didn't win though.

He did receive a lifetime achievement award from the German Film Awards in 1967 ...
