You can listen to all five songs again here.
In case you're interested, Barack Obama, president of these here United States of America, mentioned earlier in the week that his favorite song from a movie is "As Time Goes By" from Casablanca. So said the Washington Post. Perhaps he's a secret reader of the Mythical Monkey. If so, welcome, Mr. President! It's a big tent we pitch here and whatever brings you to the party, here's hoping you stick around.

Your choices are:
James Stewart (Vertigo)

Anthony Perkins (Psycho)

Cary Grant (The Philadelphia Story)

Ingrid Bergman (Casablanca)

As usual, cast your vote in the poll at the right hand side of the page.
Have fun.
Of the four biggest Oscar snubs in history as chosen by EW.com, which overlooked performance most deserved a nomination?
ReplyDeleteI probably should have worded that "biggest snubs in Oscar history" but too late now ...
Victory and publicity. Nice. ;D
ReplyDeleteI gonna go with Anthony Perkins. Doesn't get better than his amazing performance as Norman Bates. Oh and thanks for the plug for my march madness. appreciate it very much.
ReplyDeleteOh, definitely Anthony Perkins.
ReplyDeleteIngrid Bergman was lovely in Casablanca, but I think any great actress -- as long as she was thoughtful -- could have pulled that off.
Cary Grant -- Out of the men, I always thought Jimmy Stewart did the best job in THE PHILADELPHIA STORY.
As for VERTIGO: As much as I love Jimmy in that one, too, I think it was another role that a few of the best actors could have handled. (May not have been as memorable...)
But Anthony Perkins, in PHYSCO, is just something for the ages. I can't imagine anyone else playing that role.
I don't even like the movie as much I like HIM in it.

Interesting poll. :)

And I finished Harpo Speaks the other night...I immediately wanted to start the whole thing over. ;)
