I nominated The English Patient in several categories, but I'll be honest with you, I'm not a fan. I mean, I got it in terms of all its literary tricks, but did I ever care about what was happening on screen? Nuh-uh. And nothing that's happened in the last twenty-plus years makes me think I ever will.
I threw in As Good As It Gets assuming that you, too, find it repulsive. I haven't given it twelve seconds' thought, but I bet that 1997 is one'a the good years. . . .
I can't wait to see what you do with the coming year. Boogie Nights ? As Good As It Gets ?
ReplyDelete#whatthefuckwill1997looklike?
And don't forget L.A. Confidential ...

ReplyDeleteYeah, 1997 was a great year for movies and then Titanic and As Good As It Gets won all the Oscars -- go figure.
ReplyDeleteI foresee a big year for L.A. Confidential, Jackie Brown and Boogie Nights ... but you can still vote for Titanic and As Good As It Gets!
