Why am I re-doing the 2006 Alternate Oscars? In the immortal words of John "Bluto" Blutarsky, "Why not?"


My choices are noted with a ★. A tie is indicated with a ✪. Historical Oscar winners are noted with a ✔. Best foreign-language picture winners are noted with an ƒ. Best animated feature winners are noted with an @. A historical winner who won in a different category is noted with a ✱.

    This was easy — I actually *would* stuff the ballot box if I could — I thought that The Lives of Others was one of the best movies I’ve ever seen. And still think that it’s a great, great film.

    I kid.

    I had you down in my head as the biggest supporter of The Lives of Others. It is a great movie. I have it second on my list behind Pan's Labyrinth. Then Inside Man, which I've actually seen the most of any movie from 2006. It's my favorite Spike Lee movie ...
