I was struck by the same resemblance -- same hair, same pose, same expression. And yet when you see them both on the screen, you'd never confuse one for the other.
Named for Katie-Bar-The-Door, the Katies are "alternate Oscars"—who should have been nominated, who should have won—but really they're just an excuse to write a history of the movies from the Silent Era to the present day.

Look at me—Joe College, with a touch of arthritis. Are my eyes really brown? Uh, no, they're green. Would we have the nerve to dive into the icy water and save a person from drowning? I saw the first picture (age 15) before I saw the caption and my first thought was: Lilian Gish was older than 15 when she was in Broken Blossoms.
I always thought of Gish as odd-looking an Loy as sultry. Never thought of them as looking like each other.

My Goodness, Minnie Loy was absolutely adorable her whole life.
Wonderful pix of a wonderful actress. She was a swell broad.
Myrna loy was just wonderful And beautiful during her career. One of the most gracious actresses that ever lived.
