Katie-Bar-The-Door and I love the Ealing Studio comedies.

Between The Bridge on the River Kwai and Star Wars, I think a lot of people forget that Alec Guinness's first claim to fame was comedy -- wickedly good comedy at that. As great as he was in dramas, I think he was even better in comedies.

Absofreakinlutely, Guinness was so built for comedy, The Lady Killers Lavender hill mob and The Last Holiday etc are tops. He is also pretty great as fagin in Oliver twist, flippin couldn't believe it was Alec Guinness under there.

Also, Fellini hold the record for most Best Director nominations (4) without ever getting a Best Picture nomination.
